Our story

In 1980, a small group of 10 to 15 believers gathered in a Buxton, Maine, living room, united by a burning passion for Jesus. Under Pastor Gary Braley’s faithful leadership for 40 years, Living Waters Christian Church grew from humble beginnings to a thriving community. Outgrowing multiple locations, we built a sanctuary on a hill in 1991, a beacon reflecting our deep desire to know God intimately and serve Buxton with love.

In August 2025, Pastor Pete assumed leadership, launching a bold new chapter with our mission to Love radically, Ignite revival through His presence, and pursue Victory in transforming our community. We are a people committed to deepening our roots as Living Waters to transform Buxton.

Today, Living Waters thrives through ministries igniting passion in the next generation while striving to meet community needs and sharing hope for revival. From our hilltop sanctuary, we’re building a victorious community that loves people fiercely, ignites revival boldly, and serves Buxton tirelessly.
