Living Waters Christian Church began in 1980 in a living room with an attendance of
ten to fifteen people. It has continuously outgrown many locations throughout the years, until 1991 when a new church was constructed on a hill in Buxton, Maine, with
a weekly attendance of roughly 150 people and still growing.
What We BelieveThose who make up our church family are filled with a passion for a more intimate relationship with the lord, and a deep desire to reach our community and make a difference in the world around us. Everyone is able to connect through ministries for the whole family through home connection groups, bible studies, adult and youth ministries as well as varied interests such as family, knitting, fishing, hunting, hiking, crafts, softball, gardening, horses, kayaking and music. We believe in the Deity of Christ, His Headship of the Church and His pre-eminence in our lives. We believe in
the Born Again experience (John 3), repentance and belief (John 14:6)
in Christ, and the Holy Spirit indwelling the believer. (Rom. 8:9, 11
and Eph. 3:16, 17) We believe in the Virgin birth of Christ (Luke 1:34, 35) and His effective atonement for sin by his shed blood on the cross. We believe in the Divine Inspiration and importance of the Word of God in every part of a believer's life. (II Tim. 3:16) We believe in Christ's bodily resurrection from the tomb and His visible coming again in Power and Glory. We believe in
the resurrection of the redeemed to eternal life in Heaven and the
resurrection of Christ's rejectors to eternal damnation, at the day of
judgement. (Heb. 9:27) We believe that
the book of Acts is the general New Testament pattern for the local
Church and that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are operative today as God
the Spirit administers, for the building up of the body and the Glory of
God. We believe in celebrating the Lord's Supper and believer's Water Baptism by immersion. We believe
in a Holy and mature walk for believers by a growing relationship of
submission to Christ's will and Word, (Eph. 4:11-16) and commitment to
each other as brothers and sisters. We believe in New Testament government through elders (I Pet. 5:1-9, Acts 14:23 and 15:6-22). We believe in New Testament government through elders (I Pet. 5:1-9, Acts 14:23 and 15:6-22). We believe in
the body functioning as in Eph. 4:11-16 and I Cor. 14:26 as a living
member of Christ's body placed on the earth to be the praise to His
Name! We believe it
is a privilege and joy to be a Christian, and that Christian love is
our goal and Christ's command in the family, church and community. (Jn.
15:12) Mission Statement Our Heart is to be world changers for the Glory of God by realizing God's full plan and potential for our lives through a relentless pursuit of God and the people he loves. | Gary Braley Senior Pastor Gary Braley was born and raised in Maine. It
was in his second year of Bible school that he felt God call him to be
“separated unto the gospel of Christ” (Romans 1:1) and from that moment
his desire to serve God and the people He loves has only intensified.
Pastor Gary continues to grow and serve God’s people through
attending Pastoral Conferences, providing Godly council to all who need
help, and leadership training for his staff. He oversees all of the
leadership in the Church which includes, the pastor – elder board, all
department heads, Living Waters Christian School and Daycare. He also
preaches, teaches, and disciples. Growing up in a God fearing home and having made a commitment to
follow Christ when a teenager, Pastor Gary has provided his family with a
wonderful foundation of love and support. Family is very important to
the Pastor, who has four married children and thee grandchildren.
Despite his very full ministry schedule, Gary is committed to spending
quality time with his family. He enjoys taking his grandsons on four
wheeler rides, hunting and fishing with his son and sons – in – law, as
well as having devoted much of his time to coaching his three daughters.
He is also committed to maintaining a solid marriage which he does by,
and this is his favorite activity, keeping his weekly date night with
his beautiful high school sweetheart and wife of thirty – three years,
Cheryl Braley. Chis Hilton Youth Pastor Chris was involved in youth ministry long before he became the youth pastor at Living Waters Christian Church. Having attended LWCC most of his life, Chris grew up going to Sunday school and youth group but it wasn't until he became a teenager that he developed a personal relationship with Christ. Since that time Pastor Chris has only moved forward in his calling. After graduating from Nyack College, he returned home and began teaching as well as serving under Pastor Bill Braley in youth ministry. While working in this capacity, Chris was able to learn many important truths that have served him well as Youth Pastor. One of those truths is vision; Chris is believing that one day Revive, the teen center at Living Waters, will develop into a center worthy of its own staff and its own facility allowing it to change the lives of teens in the community just as his own life was changed. When Chris is not leading a weekly teen
Bible study or spending his Sunday evenings at the Revive Teen
Center, he can be found providing lights, sound, and visual enhancements
to many activities at Living Waters, including Sunday services.
Despite his busy schedule, he does enjoy a little down time. Some of
his favorite hobbies are fishing, working with anything electronic,
ATVing, and his all time favorite activity is spending quality time with
his beautiful wife, Stephanie, and their two precious little girls,
Isabella and Abigail.
Pete Talbot Middle School Youth Pastor Challenged to creatively express myself artistically more and more each day while giving the glory completely to my creator. I came to a relationship with the Lord at age 12 in a Wednesday night meeting at a small church in Berwick, Maine. I remember having many people in my life that really shaped who I am today. From youth Pastors to teachers, these people remain in my thoughts and prayers and I am very thankful for them. At the age of 18 I came to the realization that God has a bigger purpose in plan in each of our lives and that he is calling us out from the crowd. I have been working with the youth since 2006. I am burdened deeply for America's youth and especially for the youth of Bonny Eagle and the surrounding communities. In the fall of 2001 I acquired an infatuation with the Pastor's daughter and the lovely Bethany (Braley) became my wife in 2003. We have two handsome [strong willed, shy yet bold, funny, eccentric] boys (Tyler & Aiden) that amaze my wife and I that the apple doesn't fall that far from the tree and with them, there is never a dull moment. www.twitter.com/petethetalbot |
